The main application is electric conduction in the photovoltaic industry, as the heat-retaining material, thermal insulation material for the smelting furnace and vacuum furnace, and in the chemical industry, it could be the filtration material.

The main use of graphite felt is as insulation and thermal insulation for single-crystal silicon smelting furnaces. In the chemical industry, it can be used as a filter material for high-purity corrosive chemicals. The graphite felt can be used at temperatures up to about 3000°C in a non-oxidizing atmosphere.
